Grandfathering is closed.

This Gradual Offering plan phase is designed to allow existing 3rd level domain registrants the opportunity to register their domain name in the 2nd level space prior to any other registrant. If you owned a .CO domain name prior to July 30, 2008 the .CO registry will send an email to the Administrative Contact of your domain with instructions on how to transfer your preferred registrar.

Sunrise A & B is closed.

The Sunrise process will commence on April 1st and last through early June. It will allow trademark holders with exact match domain names registered prior to July 30, 2008 to apply for and secure their trademarks. The first three weeks will give priority registration to holders of trademarks registered in Colombia. For the remainder of the Sunrise period, marks registered in Colombia and International marks will have the same priority. Matching domains will go to auction.

Sunrise A: Colombian Trademarks (April 1, 2010 - April 20, 2010)

The Sunrise phase is designed to provide legitimate Colombian and trademark holders with the opportunity to apply for 2nd level domains prior to any other registrant. During this phase:

• Only Colombian Trademark Holders may apply
• To be eligible to participate in the Local Sunrise A, the applicant must be the holder of a trademark that has obtained registered status from the Colombian trademark office on or before July 30, 2008.
• There is no first come, first served rush for the domains. All applicants will be validated and in the event there are multiple valid applications for the same domain name string, an auction will be conducted to determine which applicant is awarded the domain name.
• All applications will incur a non-refundable application fee, regardless of whether or not the domain is awarded to the applicant.

Sunrise B: Global Trademarks (April 26, 2010 - Jun 10, 2010)

The Sunrise B phase is designed to provide global trademark holders with the opportunity to apply for 2nd level domains prior to Landrush and General Availability. During this phase:

• Only holders of trademarks of national effect may apply.
• To be eligible to participate in the Global Sunrise B, the applicant must be the holder of a trademark of national effect that has obtained registered status on or before July 30, 2008.
• There is no first come, first served rush for the domains. All applicants will be validated and in the event there are multiple valid applications for the same domain name string, an auction will be conducted to determine which applicant is awarded the domain name.
• All applications will incur a non-refundable application fee, regardless of whether or not the domain is awarded to the applicant.

Landrush is closed.

The Landrush phase is open to the general public. During this phase, applications may be submitted for any domain non-previously registered through the Grandfathering and Sunrise phases. An auction process will be used if more than one applicant applies for the same domain.

.CO is now available for registration!

The General Availability phase is open to the general public. It’s open to the general public and effectively commences general availability of 2nd level domains on a first come, first served basis. Don’t be late!
